MOURJAN BIBI – AGE 40 YEARS.
Bidi maker with 4 children to support, she needed to supplement her husband’s erratic income.  A loan of Rs.10,000/- got her started. Two years later, loan repaid, her bidi outfit flocks a turnover of Rs.40,000/-.

 

  

 

SULATA MONDAL – AGE 32 YEARS.
Started with a small sweets shop in Polerhat. In 1998, when she joined VSSU as a member, her shop had a value of around Rs. 5000. her first loan was Rs. 6,000. Over the year, she has managed to take an aggregate of Rs. 18,000 to help her to expand her business. Today she is the proud proprietor of a business worth Rs. 40,000

  

 
UTTAM  NASKAR – AGE 38 YEARS.
Of Gabberia market had a small rice shop five years ago. This is the time when he became a member of VSSU and took an initial loan of Rs. 10,000. He has taken three others loans subsequently. Rs. 20,000, 50,000, 80,000. Today, the shop has expanded to incorporate clothes and garments section.
 

 

BUDHISWAR – AGE 35 YEARS.
Lathe machinist and bread-winner for a 13 member family, he borrowed Rs.30,000/- to set up a business and shoulder his responsibilities. Three years later, lathe workshop earns him Rs.1.25 Lakh a year.
